Esashi Town Mikasayama

Esashi Town Mikasayama sits in the Soya subprefecture of Hokkaido, just 2km from the Sea of Okhotsk coastline. The mountain is small and straightforward—one pair lift serves four marked runs across beginner, intermediate, and advanced pitches. The steepest course tops out at 26°, so expect mellow to moderate terrain overall. This is a local hill, not a destination resort, and it rides that way: quiet, uncomplicated, and built for the community it serves.

Night skiing runs Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 5pm to 8:30pm, with daytime hours from 9:30am to 4pm. There's no rental shop, no school, and no park—just riding. If you're passing through northern Hokkaido and want to turn some laps without the crowds or infrastructure demands of a larger area, this works. Otherwise, plan accordingly: this is a place to ride if you're already there, not a reason to go.
