Ichinose connects easily to neighboring areas like Ichinose Family and Ichinose Yamanokami, and from there you can access the northern zones of Yakebitaiyama and Okushiga Kogen via slopes or shuttle bus.

The base area has the most restaurants, bars, and shops of any Shiga village, making it a logical place to stay if you want any semblance of evening activity. That said, nightlife here is modest by international standards—a few izakayas and bars tucked inside hotels, nothing more. The broader Shiga Kogen complex offers excellent snow quality thanks to high elevation, tree skiing in pockets, and a genuinely interconnected lift system that lets you ski between villages.
