Nanao Korosa

Nanao Korosa sits on the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture, overlooking Lake Tane with a small but mixed terrain spread across beginner and advanced pitches. The mountain is compact—a single chairlift serves the area, and the season typically runs just a few weeks in January and February when snow cooperates. This region doesn't see heavy snowfall, so conditions can be thin and the season unpredictable; there have been years when the area couldn't open at all.

The resort took significant earthquake damage in early 2024 but has since reopened with the chairlift operational again. There's a moving walkway and sledging area for kids, but no rental equipment or lessons on-site, so you'll need to bring your own gear. The riding window is narrow and weather-dependent, making this a local's hill rather than a destination resort—useful if you're in the area and snow falls, but not worth planning a trip around unless you're exploring Noto Peninsula for other reasons.
