Mont Deus Snow Park

Mont Deus Snow Park sits in the mountains south of Takayama City in Gifu Prefecture, pulling decent snow through the winter season. The terrain skews toward learners and intermediate riders, with a solid base of mellow runs and a small pocket of steeper terrain for those ready to push. The longest run tops out around 1,700m, so you're looking at quick laps rather than long descents.

The lift setup is straightforward: a quad and a pair chair service the hill. The base building doubles as a roadside station (michi-no-eki) year-round, so there's food and local info on hand. Lessons and equipment rental are available, and there's a sledding area for kids. The mountain operates 8:30am to 4pm with no night skiing, so plan your day accordingly.

This is a solid neighborhood hill for locals and families, and a useful warm-up or recovery day if you're working through Takayama's other ski areas. Don't expect deep sidecountry or a vibrant base scene — come for the riding and the convenience, not the scene.
