Jibuzaka Kogen

Jibuzaka Kogen sits in Achi Village in southwestern Nagano, within reach of Nagoya and central Nagano. The mountain is built for learning: most terrain is gentle and forgiving, with a snow park on the upper slopes and a dedicated kids park at the base. Three pair lifts service the area, with two running in parallel from the base and a third climbing to the summit at 1,350m. Lifts run 8:30am to 4:30pm on weekdays, opening earlier on holidays and over New Year.

The riding here is straightforward — no wind-hold drama, no flat traverses eating momentum, just accessible slopes that let you focus on technique. Snowboarders make up 40% of the crowd, and the area draws from nearby population centers, so expect company on weekends and holidays. There's no night skiing, and the base area is modest. If you're looking for terrain variety or challenging runs, look elsewhere; this is fundamentally a place to build skills and enjoy consistent snow without complexity.
